NWI Chapter Activities
Ever since the Chapter was started in 1969, its members have gotten together, outside of regularly scheduled meetings, for various reasons, whether it be a picnic or a bus trip. In the past several years, the Chapter has had a yearly picnic hosted by Mike Schafer at his home ("Zephyr Acres") in Lee, Illinois in July. In September of 2003 and 2004, the Chapter has gone on a bus trip, organized by Jerry Stauffer, to visit various rail yards in the Chicago Area. In place of the December meeting, members get together for an informal dinner around Christmas. It seems as though something is always going on with the Chapter, so check back often for any announcments of upcoming activities!
